Funding of tourism SMEs by the Austrian Bank for Tourism Development (OeHT) on behalf of the Ministry is one of the key pillars of national tourism policy. To improve the collection and monitoring of data on the sustainability performance of businesses, the OeKB > ESG Data Hub for Tourism Businesses was launched.

The ESG Data Hub of the OeKB is a tool for enterprises and financing institutes to collect and administer Economic, Social and Governance data, also available for tourism businesses. In this context, nine tourism-specific KPIs have been developed, which are also part of the application process for funding by the OeHT.

The aim is to publish aggregated data on ESG KPIs to enable SMEs to benchmark their results. Data will be published on an annual basis, starting in Q4 2024.
